An artists event from City at Night hosted by the Ukrainian Center in Buffalo, March 16, 2014.
The event showcased visual arts and acrobatics, with some unique visual effects, as you can see in the images I captured.
In March 13, 2014 I got to shoot the I Do Love Buffalo Expo, both the event and the runway show. It was a fantastic event with hundreds of people packing the Statler to meet with 40 different LGBT friendly businesses participating. Here are images from the night, which will hopefully be the first of many of these Pride events.
On February 22, 2014 I was invited to check out the Grand Opening Celebration of Buffalo's newest food truck, Betty Crockski's. Home made Pierogi and Sausage are their specialties, and the food at this event did not disappoint! And with Dyngus Day right around the corner, they're sure to hit the ground... rolling! Check them out, coming to a street corner near you!
Wow, it has been a month since I've added anything new here.
I better get on it.
Wait for it.... wait....
Lying on a bed of slate and stone
Spirit empty, for love unknown
Broken hearts mend slower than bone
Flesh stings from wounds not sewn
Body lacking both hearth and home
Something... Rome? Nome? Garden Gnome?
...and shit, now I've got nothing.
Sometimes my poems happen that way. I have such grandiose plans to make them something special, something emotionally challenging and stirring. Something that will take the reader's breath away. Then I lose my train of thought, and get lost in the words of others usually. It's different now than in the days when I would focus on music I can feel, the mind blanking white noise of jet engines and the body numbing release of drinking until I had my fill.
And here these words sit. Idle. Not moving. Not moving anything or anyone.
Maybe they should sit on their own. Maybe they need some accompaniment.
A photo? More verses? A quote that can give them balance?
If this was a piece of paper I would probably just spill some coffee on it for character...
Oh, and in case you missed it "Ground" in the title is a verb, past-tense. Not a noun.
Just clarifying.
