Another Weigh-In Wednesday. And today's magic number was 216.4. At least it is still going in the right direction. I would have hoped after a weekend of the gym, soccer, a lot of walking, bike rides, and swimming it would have done a little better. But I guess I also had a weekend of eating out, and a week of rushed meals. So, probably it all balances out, and I remain a meatball wearing clothes.
I got into a nice groove at the last job where I was walking about .6 miles, twice a day. Kept me moving. This week, no such luck. Haven't even gotten to the gym given my new schedule. Tonight will be my first opportunity. And I haven't eaten heavy this week, but certainly not light either. I need to get better at ignoring my stomach when it threatens to digest neighboring organs.
Another Thing
Last night was my daughter's commencement ceremony. Done with high school, graduated Salutatorian of her class. Pretty amazing to think she has me for a dad, yet is so smart, and goal driven. Her Salutatorian speech was about just that; setting goals. You can watch it here:

I told her she should put in a comment about Tommy Wiseau, the producer, director, and star of the hit box-office flop, The Room. Yeah, the movie wasn't even good enough to be shown in most theaters. But Tommy, and his friend Greg, had dreams of being famous. So, they made The Room in hopes of making it big. The movie was awful, and was laughed at. People thought it was a joke, so it turned into a comedy. The flop became cult popular, and is now shown in 3rd tier cinemas, and movie cafes, and drive-ins. He is famous, even though he is famous for making something so awful it's fun.
He set a goal. He didn't make it to that goal as he envisioned, but in the end, he did achieve his goal.
That's an important lesson to keep in mind. Sometimes you have to just do things, even if you're not that good at it. You never really know what might become of it, and often, we're probably better at things, especially creative things, than we give ourselves credit for.
If you keep waiting for the perfect time, or perfect opportunity, you'll wait your life away, and never actually do anything. And you'll never know how good you could be.
Just DO IT!
Cha-cha-cha-changes, again. I must remind you.
As with many things, when changes happen, they impact other parts of life as well. Like, the time I have to carefully craft my Wednesday, and Friday blog posts, to get deep into topic, to vomit my thoughts upon the internet like a drunk teenager on a boat....
*ahem*
So this might become a bit more sporadic with the new gig. I'll tell you more about the new gig when I'm more into the new gig.
I just finished day 3. Patience, grasshoppers......
I know you’re proud! Congrats to Jordan
