217.6. Wrong direction. I swear gravity changes in my bathroom on Wednesdays. The rest of the week that number is always better. Ugh.
My father called me yesterday to ask for a link to Jordan's graduation speech video. He said he went on YouTube, and searched for my name, but couldn't find it. In the process of speaking with him, while getting into my YouTube channel to find the link, he asked, "So when I did this search, all these other videos that came up, are these all you?"
I said, "I'm sure in many cases, yes, or videos that I worked on with others."
My curiosity took me to doing a YouTube search for me. Somewhat surprising how many videos came up that I'm involved in, or worked on. Nate Cronk's music video, an image montage of my photography from Buffalo Rising, credits from other people's videos, videos I've created with Cortney, 48-Hour Film Festival videos, and even an old Infotech Niagara interview from when I ran my technology business.
Yet, there are so many that don't come up. Such as my video with the Old Fort Niagara association, work I did with Brian Zabricky, or pretty much anything on my own channel that I didn't credit myself in. I have acted in commercials I'm guessing I will never see, such as a commercial for M&T Bank, one for Calspan, and one for SunTrust Bank. It is part of my own personal struggle when I do work like that, and never get to see it. It's like a professional athlete who never gets to see game film. How do I know where I need to improve? How can I critique what I did? Or how can I even enjoy my work after the fact if I never get to see it?
Or how can I show off what I did so I can get more, similar work?
Unique Photography
I'm keeping today's blog short on words, but I will include some pretty pictures. I was recently commissioned by a local artist, Anna Kruger, to take photos of her in, and around the city. It was a unique idea compared to most of my photography, fun to execute, and one I would love to do more of with others. I think if you're reading this, you should consider it.
Mind you, she isn't a model, and the goal was to not show her face too much. Her request. But I do enjoy the results. It makes me wonder what I could do with someone who is model, and wants to be more featured in such images. Here are some of our results.
Really cool!
Sorry about the scale.
Same boat here, still.
