The hit musical SPAM-A-LOT opens at the Kavinoky Theater in Buffalo on January 11th, and I can't wait! Adapted from the Monty Python hit comedy feature, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, writer Eric Idle, and composer John Du Prez put a musical spin on the most popular scenes of the movie. I would imagine it excludes the animation bits since doing live animation would be hell on the animator's arm.

In honor, and eager anticipation of the opening of SPAM-A-LOT I've decided to highlight some of the spam I see on my website every day. With over 530 blog entries, I have only 165 approved, and legitimate (mostly)

comments in my blog. Fortunately I have a bunch of security set up because, I shit you not, my security has blocked, since this summer, 13,507 malicious or questionable login attempts, and 42,708 malicious or Spam comments!

And I go through them as best as I can to make sure there aren't false positives, but when the spam receptacle has over 200 comments in it at all times, it's tough to sort through it all, every day.

 

That's a lot of spam! It's like the restaurant only serves Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Baked Beans, and Spam, and we asked for Spam in place of the Baked Beans.

So in honor of all that spam, here are some samples, of the ones that aren't complete x-rated, or all in Russian, from my spam folder:

From Rodolfoglype: Finde eine hei?e Frau fur guten Sex in deiner Stadt which translates to: Find a hot woman for good sex in your city  - this is the most common type of spam. Apparently the Germans know all the best spots in Buffalo, NY to find hot women who give good sex....

Most of the spam posts are repetitive stuff, as you can see. A lot of user names blasting sports apparel, on the non x-rated side. A lot of spam marketing written poorly. It's all as spammy as it gets, and then all the Russian, Bulgarian, and Asian language...  they make it easy.

If you run a website, make sure you have adequate protection from these spammers. Don't let them fill your blog comments with malicious adds, and sports apparel names. Don't frustrate yourself sorting through the hordes of spammers to remove their traces manually.
