Did get much done on Day 8. Ran a few errands outside of public spaces, and then chilled in the domicile. Ordered Franco's, the kids came over for dinner. That was about it.
Finished the first season of GLOW. Made the kids watch Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery. Pretty chill day.
I'll tell you what I'm not chill about though: stupidity.
THIS.
I saw this posted by our favorite conservative dumbass, Randy. I cannot even fathom how someone's view can be this far askew.
Let's break this down one completely ignorant statement at a time, shall we?
"Thinking about holding America hostage? Think again... Not with this President 'meruca 'meruca 'meruca"
Correct, because he has already been holding America hostage for over 3 years, with the complete complicit assistance of Moscow Mitch, and the Republican held Senate. This is why we can't have nice things, like healthcare, or even somewhat affordable healthcare, or infrastructure improvements, or even our planet being habitable into the foreseeable future.
"nobody knew what they were getting when we the people elected blah blah blah..."
Yeah, no one knew. Unless you actually paid attention to how scummy he's always been. Unless you noticed his attempts to buy an NFL franchise, and the league completely shunning him. Unless you realized he took every chance he could get to be on TV, in interviews, and in as much of the spotlight as possible - like that stint with the WWF? Should have changed their name to WTF during that time. Or how about his bankruptcies, all the lawsuits for fraud against him; fuck, he was settling a $75M fraud lawsuit for his fake university WHEN a minority of voters voted for him. That wasn't a "we the people" election. "We the people" were looking elsewhere, en mass. Read the goddamn fucking data if you don't get this yet, and keep having to throw out this "We the people" bullshit like it's going to change the fact he lost the popular vote by millions. I knew what we would be getting, and that's why I didn't vote for this huckster.
"He's measurably better than anyone could have predicted."
Say what? In what way? I mean, obviously I thought he would be a complete, and utter failure, and embarrassment. He's pretty much lived up to my prediction. Given his white nationalist support base thought he'd be the next messiah, I can't say he's lived up to that in anyone's view but perhaps the misguided view of those people. He's created, or exacerbated far more problems than he has solved.
Look. The. Fuck. Around. At the current state of our nation.
"He grasps intel naturally."
No he fucking doesn't. He's not even smart enough to listen to the intel experts, and he's alienated even our most loyal allies while coddling up to dictators who have little more than malice in mind for our nation.
"Most media savvy person on earth."
The fuck he is. He can't even formulate a complete sentence, and is scorned, and ridiculed by the media world wide. He might be FOX NEWS savvy, but that requires more an unscrupulous lack of ethics, and respect to be buddies with those charlatans than any level of savvy. To the media, he's a trainwreck, and the media will never take the camera's focus off of a good trainwreck.
This is the one that really gets me:
"Tactical. Patient. Always 7 steps ahead."
I can barely hold my fucking laughter. He has the tact, and patience of a hungry, tired toddler. He throws tantrums, constantly. He thinks the world needs to bow before him at every moment. He can't even read off of a fucking pre-written script, or answer a soft-ball question without throwing out an insult, which ultimately becomes him embarrassing himself more than anything. And if he's 7 steps ahead, it's always 7 steps in the wrong direction.
For example:
Yeah, your 7 steps head guy who is a master of intel whines that nobody in their wildest dreams could have foreseen that we'd need tens of thousands of ventilators when there was an actual fucking CDC study stating just that.
And this in important because, after said study the Obama administration ramped up CDC presence to keep an eye on potential growing pandemics, but because those where Obama initiatives the petulant orange stained toddler decided they weren't important.
And, TA-DA! We have a pandemic that is now growing out of control.
But hey, republican politicians think we can just suspend all the home-quarantine, and social distancing because, why the fuck not? The old people will gladly sacrifice their lives for the sake of the economy, right?
Right. I mean, you know, the generation that thinks renewable energy is a waste of money, that thinks global climate change is a socialist hoax to try and redistribute wealth, and believes bringing a canvas shopping back to the store with them is a complete inconvenience, I'm sure is willing to die for the sake of a healthy stock market.
Isn't that what JFK once proclaimed? "Ask not what your country can do for you, but how your life is worth less than the Walton family's blue-chip portfolio."
I hate even having images of this lowlife, vile, disgusting, bloated creep in my blog.
But going back to Image #1, the irony of "Vickie Paladino for NYC" heaping false praise on this con artist, while being in NYC, where COVID-19 has hit America the hardest, and where Governor Cuomo has actually shown a level of leadership, compassion, action, transparency, and understanding that the white house hasn't even come close to. Shameful. Downright shamful.
Almost as shameful as the Republicans in the Senate trying to use this whole situation to create a $500B open-ended slush fund for their high-profile political donors, and then bitching when the Democrats blocked it.
Almost, but I'm not sure anyone outside of the White House itself could reach Moscow Mitch's level of disgraceful, reprehensible actions in government.
