Yesterday was fun. Since everything is cancelled we continued our home improvement projects, obviously, but on Saturday mornings I have my kids with me, so we took a jaunt to Tifft Farms Nature Preserve for a little social distancing hike around, and to have a little self-initiated cleanup of nature. It was quiet, and peaceful. There were others out there, but sparse enough of visitors that distancing wasn't an issue. We started in the open fields, picking up wind blown plastic bags, wrappers, and packaging materials, but as we hiked further into the park, we reached an area that was obviously build up on land fill. The trash became a whole lot of broken bottles; antiques often. We found many shoe soles, a stack of marketing signs on thin aluminum, apparently for a product called Car Stairs from either the 1950s or early 1960s. Industrial waste, construction waste, even huge chunks of old industrial slag. We threw out what we figured was appropriate, and filled a bag with about 15 pounds of waste.

Next week, we'll choose a different park. Hopefully it will also be devoid of people. Honestly, I usually hope for that every time I go hiking; having a shutdown is never needed for me to want to distance myself from others in nature.

Later in the evening we finished painting the livingroom, and walls along the staircase, and up to the stair landing. That took most of the afternoon, and evening. When we were done I made Chicken Corn Chowder, and grilled cheese sammiches. We watched Naked Gun, and a couple episodes of  GLOW and had some laughs before bed.

Currently we both feel well, although the colds we've had for the last week or so are starting to get to our psyche. Unsure if it is something more than colds, but we feel fine other than some sniffling, sinus congestion, and occasional throat soreness. Mostly, just our nasal tracts, and throats are irritated from constant post-nasal drip.

Now For The Less Than Funny Things

This is literally happening during the Trump presidency. Not any democratic presidency. Not in a progressive presidency. Not a socialist democratic presidency.

This is our current reality. It's not a "30 day trial" of anything. If you're too fucking stupid to recognize this fact, I have to ask, how do you even feed yourself successfully?

No, I hate to break the news to you on this since you can't figure out even the most basic shit in life for yourself, but THIS is what you get when you throw your support behind someone who is obviously, and blatantly incapable of doing the job they wanted to be elected to. Completely inept. He always has been. He bankrupted a casino, for chrissakes! A CASINO! And then complained to the courts when they wouldn't license him to build another one.

And it's fucking astounding that this is still your fear of someone with a progressive agenda being elected. Welcome to your worst nightmare. You picked it yourself, through your complete lack of vision, and inability to think for yourself. Congrats.

Lay Off The Sex Workers (Pun Intended)

Listen, it's pretty obvious Trump doesn't give a flying fuck about much except his own wealth, and success, but don't needlessly besmirch sex workers, and porn stars as part of your character assassination of him. Well, honestly, he doesn't have much of a character to assail. He's about as scummy, immoral, and inhumane as they get. He doesn't even like dogs. Can you imagine? Ugh.

But literally, porn stars careers depend on them remaining clean. It was probably a much higher health risk to Stormy Daniels when she fucked Trump, than it was to him fucking her. If she catches an STD her career could be over depending on what the infection is. If he catches one, his immoral, and lacking all integrity ass is just going to spread it to whomever will fuck him for money.

Obviously his wife is safe. She won't even hold his hand anymore. I'm about 99% surprised she hasn't poisoned his food in an inheritance grab yet. He must have everything willed to his scummy kids, and she's still trying to get in on it. Only good explanation for her still putting up with his shit, especially after knowing he paid a porn star for sex while she was in the midst of a pregnancy.

Mind The Data

The data constantly shows that the economy recovers, grows, and even booms under more liberal administrations, and often struggles, especially near the end of conservative administrations. The stock market, which has basically been the only measurement of our "booming" economy under Trump is now below where it was on Obama's last day. 

This isn't a surprise, nor is it a conspiracy. It's what frequently happens.

It is also no surprise that it dips every time Trump goes on TV to talk about the state of our pandemic preparedness, and activities. The markets have zero faith that Trump will see us through this, keep the nation on the right course, and take significant, and sustainable steps toward stabilizing anything.
