While it lasts, enjoy the breeze
Refresh the soul, returning life in whole
She flows within these walls with ease
As a gale,
A tide that too soon recedes
For shortly the air will be flung with autumn leaves
Colorful and rich, a sight to behold
But just another passing love to unfold
Breathe deep from the sweet summer breeze
An energy that flows through the air with ease
Leading us back to the shore of the sea
Sparkling with sun lit crystals that dance and fly
On the white crests of waves that escape to the sky
And in a morning mist we begin our days
Born to this world and its wicked ways
With hope that love will come to stay
But it comes and goes by chance on the wind
As birds that sail on feathers thin
The air is fluid and ever strong
Bringing with it storms and song
Never stopping, never truly gone
Fixing and breaking
Changing and making
New from the old
Meek from the bold
Sparking a light and a flame to hold
In the warmth of your heart
Where there used to be cold
And when the cold air above meets
The summer breeze and raging heat
Swept in by ignited air so fleet
And a storm does rise from the broken ground
The tempests will shake your life around
Know that within the destruction of the storm
The pleading ground still seems forlorn
Waiting on the promise of rain delivering
To the barren ground, broken and shivering
The promise of rebirth
Of happiness and mirth
New life from dust where once there was none
Life that burned unsheltered from the sun
And after the storm, the skies are oh so blue
Smiling down on life, thriving and new
Smiling down on oceans and Earth with a love so true
As the air will provide in circular motion
The elements required for this devotion
Fire for heat, and water for the ocean
And to the Earth itself
Love and life
And freedom
These are the atmosphere’s decrees
As you breathe in the sweet summer breeze
On my flesh is where we wage war
Hiding from the fighting
It is closer than ever before
Paint the crimes I will commit
In red and blue and sins of skin
Upon a stage where all is lit
Emptier than a preacher’s soul
Freer than a dead man’s castle
Then pound upon these brittle ribs
With fists that rage against the heart within
And everything it stands for
Everything it lives for
The love, and hope, and hope for love
Seen only by the sky above
Un-obscured by clouds, or night
Evident in the sun’s golden light
Not uncommon for a mortal soul
Bound to this world so cold
Yet hard to find, and hard to hold
